For the November 2021 CIMSEC / USNI fiction week writing contest I addressed the impact of climate change, pitting a future Greenland Self Defense Force against a PRC fishing fleet encroaching in one of the last stable fisheries in the world. Like many of my stories, I tried to approach it from a non-US perspective. Military Sci-Fi is almost too easy from the US perspective because the US has the money to make it happen. So I try and often explore a non-US / non-Western perspective to see how things might turn out different due to a smaller amount of available funding, or a non-Western approach to design or operational employment. That said, I hope to do better than an honorable mention in the 2022 contest. I really want that year's worth of USNI membership.
